About the Convention
The 17th annual Maine HR Convention is a production of Northern New England Law Publishers, Inc. in Portland. This is the official state conference of Maine’s SHRM State Council. With special thanks to our friends at the eight SHRM chapters in Maine, our lead convention sponsor MEMIC, and all 80 sponsors and EXPO participants.
PHILOSOPHY. A great convention is more than the sum of its parts. When you arrive at the Samoset - you will be our SPECIAL GUEST, not just an attendee. During the course of your stay, we want you to learn something new about yourself. And when you walk out the Samoset door, you will travel home with great HR tools for your workplace, a better sense of where HR stands in your organization, and an enhanced HR career.
EDUCATION. Our highest priority is quality education. You will hear keynote speakers from around the country and have access to more than 40 workshops touching on every aspect of HR. The five-track learning system focuses on employee management and development, legal compliance and risk management, strategic HR, HR skill building, and benefits.
HRCI CERTIFICATION. We are applying for PHR/SPHR recertification credit with HRCI, seeking up to 22 hours of general recertification credit and 16 hours of strategic business recertification credit. We will post the final number of hours once HRCI has reviewed and approved our application.
